Deal will give Chesapeake two further facilities in the US

Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging has reached an agreement to acquire Cortegra Group, a leading US producer of pharmaceutical leaflets and labels, from Menasha Corporation. Cortegra, which has two production facilities dedicated to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, complements Chesapeake’s existing three US facilities and further augments its extensive global supply network.

Cortegra has production sites on the east coast in Fairfield, New Jersey as well as a mid-west location at Evansville, Indiana. Employing 150 people, the business is certified to stringent international standards and delivers a broad range of products - patient information leaflets, self-adhesive labels, folding cartons – as well as combination products and related services to multinational and generic healthcare companies.

‘Cortegra enjoys a coveted reputation as a high-quality supplier to the US pharmaceutical market and adds both size and scale to our US operations,’ said Mike Cheetham, Chesapeake’s ceo.

‘The acquisition extends our product range, customer base and our geographical reach. As well as presenting significant cross-selling opportunities, it reinforces our market position and demonstrates our commitment to the key markets we serve.’
