Will move into new Deeside building that is double the size of existing premises

Pharmaceutical contract packaging company Chester Medical Solutions is moving its carton and leaflet manufacturing operations to a new site close to its existing premises on Deeside Industrial Park, North Wales.

The new 60,000ft2 building is twice the size of Chester Medical’s current premises and will enable the company to expand its carton and leaflet business further while at the same time supporting existing customers.

To meet growing demand Chester Medical has already invested in new manufacturing equipment in the last two years, which has led to a 25% year on year increase in output.

In 2011 the firm also obtained PS9000 accreditation for pharmaceutical packaging.

‘This is a very exciting opportunity and the logical next step in our continuing growth programme,’ said Chester Medical’s managing director David Patterson.

‘In particular, having the ability to design this facility from scratch enables us to create the most efficient systems and working practices. The result will be enhanced levels of quality, service and support for our customers.’

Patterson said the move would be completed early next year.

Chester Medical Solutions provides extensive contract packing and manufacturing services including blister packs, pot and bottle filling and peel pouch packing and assembly, with advanced quality systems to ensure consistency and accuracy during the packing process, along with full reporting and traceability.

The firm is accredited by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for a wide variety of packaging requirements and holds an MHRA MIA Licence for Human Use.

The company has also been awarded Specials and Veterinary licences and achieved ISO 13485 certification for the packing of medical devices.
