ClinTec International, a global CRO with a presence in more than 40 countries worldwide, welcomed Glasgow’s Lord Provost Sadie Docherty to its UK headquarters in Glasgow this week (19 June) to acknowledge the formal launch of the company’s MSc in International Clinical Research and Technology in collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University (ENU).
The event marked the first intake of students for the innovative and pioneering three-year course: the first of its kind to be launched by a UK based CRO. Already students from 13 countries (Austria, Czech Republic, France, India, Lebanon, Lithuania, Philippines, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, and the UK) have enrolled for the course.
Speaking at the event, ClinTec’s CEO and founder, Dr Rabinder Buttar, said: ‘The launch of this Master’s degree shows the commitment we have towards nurturing the talent of the future. We have always been an advocate of employing talented, bright, and resourceful graduates from all across the globe, so this course is something to be extremely proud of. The clinical research market is constantly evolving with new markets and trends emerging year after year. It is my hope that this course will give candidates the tools and knowledge they require in order to be successful after graduation. It is my hope that we will see candidates from all corners of the world enrolling.’
Lord Provost Sadie Docherty added: ‘This is a great example of business and educational institutions collaborating, and working together. Scotland has contributed a great deal to the pharmaceutical industry over the past 150 years. I am confident this course will strengthen that tradition.’
Taught by experts in the field from both ENU and ClinTec’s experienced global team, the Masters course is designed for Clinical Research Professionals and will be delivered online on a part-time basis through an interactive learning platform or in person at ENU campuses. This will mean the course can be fitted around a busy work and home life, with lectures being able to be viewed live, or after the lecture has occurred.
