This reagent for the lysis of cells and the release of genomic DNA requires just a 10-minute incubation on a thermal cycler before the DNA is ready for PCR processing. It has been successfully used to lyse a range of cells, including human fibroblasts tissue culture cells, human sperm, mouse and rat tissue culture cells, mouse tail, various plants, Drosophila and others such as yeast and viruses.

To use DNAreleasy, cells are mixed with 20μl of the reagent and an overlay of mineral oil. They are then placed in a thermal cycler and treated at 75°C for five minutes followed by 96°C for two minutes before holding at 20°C. After the lysis, a part or all of the DNAreleasy-lysate can be used directly in PCR. DNAreleasy can make up to 40% of most PCR mixes. It can be stored at -20°C for future use.

Anachem is a specialist supplier of scientific equipment and reagents to the laboratory community in the UK and Ireland representing suppliers such as Gilson, Rainin, SSI,Treff, 4titude, Vitlab, Nippon Genetics and KAPA Biosystems.
