Dec Group, a leading provider of powder handling and containment systems to the global pharmaceutical, chemical, food and cosmetic industries, has established a new Chinese subsidiary company

Dec Group, a leading provider of powder handling and containment systems to the global pharmaceutical, chemical, food and cosmetic industries, has established a new Chinese subsidiary company to support and strengthen its successful growth over the last 10 years in China.

Dec China is based in the newly established Swiss Center in Shanghai’s New Pilot Free Trade Zone. 'Shanghai provides a very convenient location for the new subsidiary,' said Martin Larruscain, regional manager of Dec China.

Growing containment market

'China is a strategic market. Our new subsidiary will offer more flexibility to supply local customers,' Larruscain explained. 'Over the past few years, there has been growing interest for technologies enhancing safety, containment and productivity. Dec plays a major role in providing these technologies.'

China-Pharm and CIPM presence

Dec Group will also underline its growing profile in China by making debut appearances in its own right at the upcoming China-Pharm and CIPM trade shows in Shenzhen and Chongqing. For the first time at both shows, Dec will exhibit under its own name, rather than through a local affiliate.

The DEC Group team at Booth O009s at China-Pharm, from 28 - 31 October, will be exhibiting a range of important new technologies, including the PTS (Powder Transfer System) along with the MCOne micronising system. The following week, the Dec team will move on the Chongqing for the four-day 2014 CIPM China Autumn event, opening on 7 November. The Dec stand at CIPM can be found at Booth N5-44.

Patented solutions

'It’s estimated that more than 100,000 people will attend the 2014 China-Pharm and CIPM events,' said Dec Group marketing head Gabriela Mikhaiel. 'Such high profile shows make ideal platforms to raise our profile in China. The establishment of our new Chinese subsidiary means we can be present in this huge market as a brand in our own right.'

'Visitors to our stands will be able to see for themselves the quality of Dec engineering and also appreciate the depth of our expertise in the key technologies of powder transfer, process isolation and particle size reduction,' she added.

Powder containment seminars

Later in November, Dec will also be represented at the one-day Containment Seminars in Beijing and Shanghai, on 19 and 21 November, organised by Rieckermann Pharmatech. Dec Group Managing Director Frédéric Dietrich will be a guest speaker at both seminars, talking about ‘New technologies for safe and contained powder handling in the bulk pharmaceuticals industry’.
