Desiccant air dryer combines separation and filtration

Introduces next generation of compressed air dryers

Nano-Porous Systems of Gateshead, UK has introduced a desiccant air dryer that offers efficiency and energy saving by combining water separation and inlet and outlet filtration in one elegant unit.

The company says the patented design of the dryer eliminates the need for external filtration and problems associated with the mechanical failure of condensate float drains and increases reliability. Condensate is collected within an internal chamber, which is expelled every two minutes through timed solenoid waves.

The dryer is energy efficient, with integrated filtration and good flow distribution across the desiccant beds reducing pressure loss through the dryer by 60%.

The silver and black dryer has an easy to read text display screen to check each stage of operation and drying cycles. It is available in five sizes with flows between 3 and 24scfm and can be floor or wall mounted.

Nano-Porous Systems has been developing the product for more than two years. It delivers air in accordance with ISO8573:1 – 2001, Class 2 dirt (one micron) and Class 2 water (-40ºC pressure dewpoint).

A switch mode power supply means the dryer can operate in the US, EU and Japan. It is the first product to be launched by industrial compressed air treatment products specialist Nano-porous Systems. The company was set up in 2007.

When used near to the point of application any compressed air that comes into contact with people, animals, food, drinks, medical equipment or pharmaceutical products is dry, clean, safe and contaminant free.

Colin Billiet, formerly chief executive of the Domnick Hunter Group, heads the company.

‘This product introduces the next generation of compressed air dryers. Given the maturity of the market, it is surprising that we have been able to introduce a dryer with so many innovative features. We have worked hard to ensure it resolves problems, meets the highest standards worldwide, is extremely energy efficient and pleasingly easy to use,’ he said.

‘The new system will appeal to many sectors such as manufacturing, laboratories and electronics. It offers real innovation to the air dryer market, backed up by rigorous research and testing.’
