DiscoveRx acquires BioSeek
Adds BioMAP drug screening technology to its drug discovery solutions
DiscoveRx, headquartered in Fremont, California in the US has acquired BioSeek, a drug discovery services company based in South San Francisco, California, for an undisclosed sum.
As a result of the transaction, DiscoverX will add BioSeek’s BioMAP drug screening technology to its drug discovery solutions, which include GPCR, Kinase and NHR assay solutions and KINOMEscan technology.
The BioMAP screening systems incorporate primary human cell-based disease models that generate predictive biological activity profiles for potential drugs to assist in the selection and development of new drug candidates and safer chemicals.
Pyare Khanna, president and chief executive of DiscoverX, said the integration of BioSeek provides two new capabilities to the company.
‘Expertise in primary cell disease models as well as a highly differentiated compound characterisation service,’ he added.
‘These new capabilities further strengthen our position as a premier drug discovery solution provider that develops and commercialises high-value products and specialised services.’
