The Klercide Sporicidal Enhanced Peroxide boasts 1.5% concentration of hydrogen peroxide yet is equally effective and faster acting than a standard 6% formulation
Ecolab has launched Klercide Sporicidal Enhanced Peroxide, its latest innovation in the sporicide market.
The product’s patented formulation works by attacking a microorganism in such a way that its outer wall becomes permeable. This allows a much lower 1.5% concentration of its active ingredient, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), to be equally effective as, and faster acting than, a standard 6% formulation.
Commenting on the launch, Ecolab said: "As it is an employer’s duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees1, the use of disinfectants in cleanrooms can present a significant challenge.
"This is especially true of sporicidal disinfectants that have a reputation for being aggressive and unpleasant to use2."
Klercide Sporicidal Enhanced Peroxide has been manufactured to provide the perfect balance between:
The low levels of active ingredient ensure Worker Exposure Limits (WELs) are very unlikely to be exceeded, even when used in large areas, while surfaces and equipment are exposed to less risk of corrosion.
Plus due to its minimal odour, Klercide Sporicidal Enhanced Peroxide has high user acceptance and its unique formulation—free from aldehyde, chlorine and peracetic acid— is safer for both users and the environment.
Jocelyn Romanis, Ecolab's European Cleanroom Marketing Manager, said: "We are convinced Klercide Sporicidal Enhanced Peroxide offers a game-changing sporicidal solution to our customers, helping them achieve their environmental goals whilst improving compliance with SOPs through greater user acceptance.”
