European Pharmacopoeia to get chapter on microbiological control of tissue

EDQM is running a survey to gather information from stakeholders on monitoring microbiological control


The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) Commission has decided to produce a new general chapter on microbiological control of tissue.

It is currently running a survey to gather information from relevant stakeholders to enable the Ph. Eur. experts in charge of the elaboration of this chapter to have a clear vision on the current situation regarding the characteristics of tissue preparations used in Europe and how they are monitored with regard to microbiological control.

This survey will end on 2nd September 2016.

The EDQM will publish its 9th Edition of the Ph. Eur. this year. It will contain nearly 3000 monographs and general texts and will become legally binding across the continent on 1st January 2017.

The EDQM is organising an international conference to mark the publication of the 9th Edition of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).

The conference – Ph. Eur.: Tackling future challenges of the Quality of Medicines together – will take place in Tallinn, Estonia on 27–28 September 2016.
