GEA, Siemens, and Perceptive engineering host conference continuous manufacturing technologies for pharmaceutical manufacturers

Industry experts from GEA, Siemens and Perceptive Engineering have joined forces to host a three-day conference.

Entitled ‘The Reality of Continuous Pharmaceutical Manufacturing’, the event will examine the latest thinking around Continuous Manufacturing (CM) technologies for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Continuous manufacturing helps businesses achieve higher production yields, lower utility consumption and reduced waste. By comparison, batch processing falls short on all of these and is more time-consuming.

The event will take place on 26-28 March, 2019 at the National Formulation Centre in Sedgefield. It will include a series of presentations from early adopters of continuous manufacturing strategies. These talks will focus on the development and manufacture of oral solid dosage (OSD).

Companies with speakers will include:

  • AstraZeneca
  • Bayer
  • CMAC
  • GSK
  • Janssen
  • Merck
  • UCB Pharma
  • University of Sheffield

Jan Verelst, Siemens’ Global Business Development Manager for Sipat & Continuous Manufacturing, said: “By listening to user experiences, attendees will be able to hear more about how CM is assisting the industry to produce higher quality products, enhance drug safety and reduce its industrial footprint for a sustainable future.”
