Hikal signs API contract manufacturing agreement with Pfizer

Indian outsourcing company Hikal has completed a contract manufacturing agreement for supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with Pfizer. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.


Indian outsourcing company Hikal has completed a contract manufacturing agreement for supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with Pfizer. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Hikal's advanced manufacturing facilities have been inspected and approved by globally recognised bodies such as the USFDA. The company's API and pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing facilities are situated in Jigani (Bangalore) and Panoli (Gujarat) respectively and are supported by a state-of-the-art research centre and pilot plant facilities located at Bangalore.

"We are extremely pleased to be selected as a long term contract manufacturer by Pfizer," said Jai Hiremath, vice chairman and managing director of Hikal. "This agreement will have a substantial impact on our pharmaceutical business in the coming years."
