Brings together researchers from both academic and industrial organisations on a single platform

Hosokawa Micron has entered into a three-year partnership and sponsorship of the International Symposium on Functional Nanomaterials in Industrial Applications, organised by University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), Preston, UK. The academic-industry meet will take place at UCLan, Preston on 29–31 March 2016.

Bringing together researchers from both academic and industrial organisations on a single platform, organisers believe that after 25 years of research in nanotechnology, the time is right for academic researchers to discuss with industrial organisations an exploitation plan and future strategy for the ultimate goal, i.e.benefit for society.

The symposium aims to discuss three major thematic areas:

  • Nano-energy/environmental for a better society;
  • Nano-medicine for health and diagnostics; and
  • Nano-catalysis for green technology.

‘After our many years of research and pioneering advancement in the developments of our technologies to create new functional nanopowders and a diverse application menu, Hosokawa Micron welcomes this opportunity to share ideas for a future, concerted and globally beneficial nanomaterials strategy,’ said Iain Crosley, Managing Director, Hosokawa Micron.
