New company is created through the integration of the two companies which offer research models and services and contract research services

The combined companies Huntingdon Life Sciences and Harlan Laboratories, together with three subsidiaries: GFA, NDA Analytics and LSR Associates, have become Envigo.

The new name and brand will be launched later this year and it marks the progress that has been made in integrating the companies since the two companies announced the merger in May 2014 and builds on a heritage of more than 80 years.

Envigo's CEO Brian Cass said: 'This is a hugely exciting time for our company. We at Envigo will be united with our customers in the knowledge that the research they conduct, and the products we help them develop, have the potential to enhance life. Our new name and brand will reflect our integrated management structure and the broader product and service offerings of our combined organisation.'

COO Adrian Hardy added: 'Our customers are looking for partners who understand their goals, take ownership of projects, and deliver high quality products and science. Our goal is to establish Envigo as the number one partner for both customer service and scientific expertise.'

The combined organisation employs 3,800 people and has sales approaching US$500m. As a result of the integration, the company is the largest provider of research services to the crop protection and chemical industries, the second-largest supplier of research models and services, and the third largest in the preclinical pharmaceutical development arena.
