Divestment in line with strengthened focus on speciality products and services

Tessenderlo Group has completed the sale of its pharmaceutical ingredients activities in Calaire (France) and Farchemia (Italy) to International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), a private industrial holding company.

The Tessenderlo Group announced in October 2012 its intention to divest the pharmaceutical ingredients activities at Calaire and Farchemia, which have some 360 employees. After clearance by the merger control authorities, the sale was completed on 5 December 2012.

This divestment is in line with Tessenderlo Group’s strengthened focus on speciality products and services in the areas of food, agriculture and water management.

ICIG is a privately-owned industrial holding company focusing on mid-sized chemicals and pharmaceutical businesses. Since its inception in 2004, it has acquired 19 independent chemicals and pharmaceutical businesses with total sales of approximately €780m. It has not announced its plans for the new purchase.
