IMA Active announces new tablet press

Prexima ensures complete separation between the processing and mechanical areas

IMA Active, the solid dose division of the Italian pharmaceutical packaging machine manufacturer IMA, offers a new tablet press called Prexima.

Boasting attractive Italian design, the machine aims to drive productivity and efficiency to a higher level.

Based on the proven Comprima concept, Prexima ensures complete separation between processing and mechanical areas thanks to the use of purposely designed seals and protective elements.

In addition, the tablet press has been designed so that the processing area is fully accessible once the external doors are opened, while access to the machine basement is only required for maintenance.

The Prexima’s compression support is based on three columns linked together by two strong cast iron structures. The compression rollers are incorporated within these structures and are supported on both sides. This sturdy structure – an essential requirement for high quality tablets – guarantees main compression forces of up to 100kN.

The removal of the turret is quick and easy thanks to a rotating arm completely housed in the upper mechanical compartment. The HMI guides the operator step by step during each phase of turret extraction.

Prexima is also equipped with the new XIMA HMI, which was recently awarded the 'A' Design Award 2015 for its usability and role in improving operators' efficiency.

The new machine will be previewed at IMA's Open House in Bologna, on 28–29 October.
