ITAG monitors temperature of pharmaceuticals in transit

Available with pre-programmed life periods

The latest data logger from UK specialist Signatrol is the ITAG, a single use disposable data logger with in-built USB connector that is used to monitor the temperature of pharmaceuticals in transit.

EN12832 and FD 21 CFR 11 compliant, the ITAG is available with pre-programmed life periods of 24 and 72 hours, and 7, 15, 30 or 60 days. The logging intervals are between 10 seconds and 2 hours depending upon the period chosen.

The bank card-sized logger is supplied ready to use. The temperature operating range is from –30°C to +70°C, with a worst-case accuracy of ±0.5°C, making it suitable for a range of monitoring applications.

There are optional upper and lower factory set alarm set points (eg 2°C and 8°C) and bright LED indicators show if the logger has been exposed to temperatures outside the desired range.

The logging process begins when the operator presses the ITAG start button. A flashing LED confirms that logging has begun and the logger can then be inserted among or attached to the goods to be monitored. Being waterproof and contained within a food-safe wrapper, the logger can be used virtually anywhere without concerns about contamination or water exposure.

Once the products have arrived at their destination, the recorded data can be downloaded by connecting the integral USB connector into the USB port on a PC. There is no need for any additional hardware or software. A PDF report will automatically be generated, showing a temperature graph, detailed data list and statistical information. The PDF is stored within the logger to provide a permanent inviolate record. Because the ITAG is single use only, the data cannot be accidentally overwritten, which can be a problem with re-useable loggers.
