Leybold introduces two smaller pump sizes to Ecodry range

The company says these products fill the gap between its Scrollvac 18 plus and Ecodry 40 plus

Leybold has expanded its Ecodry plus family of dry multi-stage Roots vacuum pumps for laboratory, research and development and analytical applications.

The current Ecodry 40 and 65 plus models are now joined by smaller pump size models, the 25 and 35 plus.

The products reportedly boast a low noise level and an "ergonomic advantage,” says Product Manager Alexander Kaiser. “The new Ecodry 25 and 35 plus also have a particularly compact design".

The Ecodry 25 and 35 plus feature a noise level of 52 dB(A). "A normal conversation is at a noise level of about 55 dB(A)," says Alexander Kaiser.

Additionally the 25 and 35 plus models emit neither oil vapor, nor particles. They also have a maintenance interval of five years, during which time they run without any servicing.

Equipped with an integrated pump controller, they are suitable for all voltage ranges. Customers also have the option of connecting a pressure gauge directly to the vacuum pump.

"This integration is interesting because it allows the pump performance to be adapted again specifically to the respective requirement," explains Kaiser. With the help of the gauge, the pump determines the pressure: if its low enough, the pump can reduce it’s speed and become even quieter and more energy-efficient.

In addition, the product has connections for integration of the pump into external control systems and for reading all data from other systems. With interfaces including USB and RS485 as well as the company’s LEYASSIST software, the Ecodry 25 and 35 plus are designed sustainable, future-proof industrial 4.0 applications.
