NYK and Yusen unite in Europe to offer total logistics service
One-stop shop will offer complete logistics package for the healthcare sector
NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service (YAS) have united as a new comprehensive logistics provider – Yusen Logistics – in Europe. As the provider of a ‘one-stop shop’ offering land transportation, air/ocean freight forwarding and supply chain management in one package, Yusen Logistics says it is committed to meeting the specialist requirements of the healthcare sector.
Yusen Logistics provides services ranging from the supply of raw materials into manufacturing to the modelling and execution of global and pan-European solutions for temperature-sensitive products. In addition, the company offers product integrity and flexibility, legislative compliance and customs clearance.
While utilising its existing pharmaceutical distribution centres across Continental Europe and the UK, as well as an award-winning pan-European road network known as ‘the Superhighway’, the company’s total logistics service also covers air and sea.
Yusen Logistics has regional headquarters in Europe, Japan, East Asia, South Asia & Oceania and the Americas, forming a network that covers almost every country in the world.
Launched initially in Japan in October 2010 and integrating globally throughout 2011, Yusen Logistics’ European merger began with Poland and Hungary at the start of the year. On 1 April 2011 it launched in Russia, Spain, Benelux, the Czech Republic and Italy. The UK is integrating on the 17 April, followed by France and Germany in May and October respectively.
