New Chair and Deputy Chair elected to ECHA Management Board

Nina Cromnier has been re-elected as Chair while Karel Blaha becomes the new Deputy Chair

Nina Cromnier has been re-elected for a second term as the Chair of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Management Board.

Cromnier, Swedish representative to the Management Board and Director General of the Swedish Chemicals Agency, has been serving as Chair of the ECHA Management Board since 1 October 2012. Her second term of office will start today (1 October), for a period of two years.

‘It's an honour and a pleasure to have the continued confidence of the Management Board,’ Cromnier said.

Karel Blaha, the Czech representative to the Management Board, was elected as Deputy Chair for a first term of office, starting from 25 September, for a period of two years. Blaha has been a member of the Management Board since 2007.

‘I have been in the REACH business since the very beginning,’ he said. ‘I believe I can contribute to the successful work of the Management Board.’
