Global integrated supply chain solutions provider NYK Logistics has appointed Rachel Williams as its new sales director of pharmaceutical & healthcare.
The appointment, which is in line with recent and planned growth in the sector, will make Williams responsible for enhancing and extending the range and scope of NYK's activities on behalf of manufacturers of both pharmaceutical products and healthcare consumables. One of her objectives will be to demonstrate to customers how they can leverage the benefit of NYK's global expertise and infrastructure as their supply chains continue to lengthen.
Speaking after her appointment, Williams said: "In common with other UK industries, manufacturers of pharmaceutical products and healthcare consumables are sourcing raw materials and product from emerging markets, for example, consumables from China, drugs from India and re-usable surgical instruments from Pakistan."
Having spent 10 years working for pharmaceutical manufacturer, Lilley Pharmaceuticals (formerly Eli Lilly),Williams joins NYK from DHL Exel's NHS supply chain division.
