One of the UK's leading independent support service suppliers to the cleanroom sector has expanded its growing team with two key senior management appointments.

Origin Outsourcing Solutions based in Livingston, Scotland, has appointed John Anderson as business development manager of its cleanroom services division. There, he will drive forward sales and technical operations, paying specific emphasis on the pharmaceutical sector.

Joining him is new commercial manager Guy Armstrong who will be responsible for the sales and commercial direction of Origin products and services in all divisions.

Both men have vast experience servicing the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors and their appointments are key to Origin's expansion into these markets.

Anderson has an extensive background in cleanroom support services and joins the company from Critical Environment Solutions (CES - formerly AIS Countdown), where he had been UK service manager for the past four years. During his 13 years with the company, he gained substantial sales and operations experience working with a blue chip client base that included GSK and Philips Electronics.

Armstrong has over 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical sector working for GSK and Merck Sharp & Dohme where he worked to establish sales divisions, managed extensive product portfolios and managed relationships with key partners within the life sciences sector.

Origin Outsourcing ceo Kenny Gall, said: "I am delighted to welcome both John and Guy into the Origin team. Their impressive knowledge and experience of working within the life sciences sector and in sales and operations will help propel the company towards its strategic goal of expanding into new markets."

Origin Outsourcing was formed in 2006 through a management buy-out of cleanroom vacuum pump maintenance company, Hewvac. The management team subsequently bought Metron Technology's cleanroom garment laundry division in 2007.
