Packaging Valley companies present innovations for improved flexibility

Meet the Packaging Valley network of packaging machine manufacturers from 11–15 June 2018 at ACHEMA 2018

Visitors from around the world once again will pour into Frankfurt, where every 3 years the leading international trade fair for the process industries and the branch meeting of the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industry takes place.

Ten of the member companies of Packaging Valley demonstrate their solutions for efficient planning processes, cost optimisation and service concepts in Hall 3.0, 3.1 and 5.0.

This year the focus of ACHEMA is on themes such as flexible production, and chemical and pharmaceutical logistics.

“In line with this, we are also busy with modularization, agile solutions for small quantities and careful handling and transport processes”, said Kurt Engel, CEO of the packaging network.

Cost optimisation, customised machines and efficient processes, which function throughout the whole of the value creation chain are the major objectives in Packaging Valley.

The member companies of Packaging Valley include the following: Binder, E+K, Heitec, HO-MA, Itek, Optima, R. Deckert, Rommelag, Seidenader and Wipotec-OCS.

E+K and HO-MA are specialised in transport and feed solutions. E+K will demonstrate its new cost-optimised elevator, where defects and pollution in bottles or other containers can be easily detected with the HO-MA light table.

HEITEC will focuss on increasing data volumes and presents a solution for simple evaluation and visualisation of machine data: HeiTPM.

Apart from the proven pharma transport system, augmented reality is also a major focus at Itek. With this, the engineering office provides support in the planning phase, to save time and cost.

Optima Pharma will demonstrate how pharmaceutical companies can handle small batch sizes and diverse container types. The company will also introduce comprehensive scientific process engineering (CSPE) – a process that generates a timeline from the order, to start of production that is safe and efficient.

R. Deckert will show an advanced tablet counting, filling and capping machine: TVM 738. The breakage detection system from Meliscout removes faulty products from the vibration plates using a camera and an aspiration unit even prior to the filling process.

Rommelag will present customised service concepts and digitisation solutions, which promise the user an all round-carefree-package with Rommelag’s bottlepack aseptic filling lines.

WIPOTEC-OCS will also present information on high precision machines for weighing and inspection, Binder will show its production and transport containers for highly sensitive products, while Seidenader will focus on serialisation solutions.
