Romaco Group, headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, will be showing packaging and processing equipment across a range of applications at interpack 2011 in Hall 16, stand C13/D04.

The Bosspak VTC 80 vibratory tablet and capsule counter, for example, incorporates several high-speed sensors, which scan at 34,000 times a second and automatically trend and adjust the count trigger point during operation. This, together with a progressive pre-count feature, offers improved counting accuracy and faster filling speeds, says Romaco.

The Siebler strip packaging line featuring the robotic Siebler FlexTrans FT 400 transfer system copes easily with quick format changeovers. The robotic connection between the Siebler HM 1/230 heat sealing machine and the Promatic P 91 intermittent motion cartoner provides high efficiency and process control.

The Noack 930R blister line includes a QuickTransfer robot-controlled direct transfer station, QuickAdjust servo driven blister station adjustments and a QuickFeed replaceable product feed unit.

Based on the Noack 900 series design, the 930R handles small or medium batch sizes. Flexibility and rapid product changeovers are essential features of this innovative blister packaging concept, the company says.

The highest GMP standards for sterile production are fulfilled by Macofar’s VF 12 aseptic liquid filling machine for putting pharmaceuticals and biotech products into vials. An open RABS (Restricted Access Barrier System) keeps operators away from the critical areas during operation. Brushless motor driven peristaltic pumps, a new stoppering system and vertical laminar flow ensure maximum sterility throughout the process.

Efficient process control and high level ergonomics are the hallmarks of the Promatic PC 4250 continuous motion cartoner. All production steps can be visually monitored owing to frame-free guards and digital position indicators. A balcony design and a high capacity carton magazine allow easy access to all machine components. The machine offers a wide format range and a maximum output of up to 250 cartons a minute.

FrymaKoruma’s Frymix II vacuum processing unit reflects the latest advances in sterile manufacturing solutions. The unit's cGMP-compliant design is characterised by an enclosed vessel system with an innovative guide cone.

A powerful homogeniser processes suspensions and emulsions for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries according to the rotor-rotor principle. The Frymix II is especially suited to shear-sensitive products.
