UK-based Spectronic Analytical Instruments has acquired the business of Camspec Limited, a leading UK specialist supplier of UV/visible spectrophotometers, for an undisclosed sum.
UK-based Spectronic Analytical Instruments has acquired the business of Camspec Limited, a leading UK specialist supplier of UV/visible spectrophotometers, for an undisclosed sum.
Spectronic has been supplying an extensive range of high quality laboratory instruments to the public sector, commercial organisations and academia for 36 years, and has been a UK distributor of Camspec’s products since 1988.
The forthcoming retirement of Camspec founder and managing director Dr Tony Moss was the trigger for this acquisition, which sees the business moving from Sawston in Cambridgeshire to Garforth, Leeds, from where it will now trade as Camspec Analytical Instruments Limited.
‘Camspec is a truly global company with a strong network of international distributors in 57 countries around the world,’ said Spectronic’s Eric Brereton. ‘The majority of these distributors supply a range of laboratory instruments, equipment and consumables to a diverse base of customers in their own countries, so there is a natural affinity with our own business operations.’
