Terra has launched a modular hybrid cleanroom that is said to offer the benefits of both hardwall and softwall constructions. Like a hardwall, the freestanding hybrid cleanroom will maintain specified positive pressure and cleanliness levels (ISO 5–8); but, like a softwall, it is economical and easily relocated.
Wall panels are made of continuous, flexible, 40mm antistatic PVC, pulled taut around a steel frame; smooth internal surfaces are easy to wipe down with sterilisers.
The PVC panels help to control particulate contamination by eliminating static attraction. The ceiling grid, holding a power module, lights, fan/filter units and ceiling panels, is supported by a powder-coated steel frame.
An external control panel mounted on the frame regulates the internal utilities. The full-sized, aluminium-framed swing door allows access into the room.
