Vanda Pharmaceuticals appoints Chief Commercial Officer

Before joining Vanda, Gibbs was Vice President of Worldwide Commercial Operations at Bristol-Myers Squibb

Vanda Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company focused on the development of drugs for the treatment of central nervous system disorders, has named Tom Gibbs as Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer.

Gibbs has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including several senior-level leadership roles in global sales and marketing.

Before joining Vanda, Gibbs was Vice President of Worldwide Commercial Operations at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Prior to this position, he held other senior roles at B-MS including Vice President of US HIV Franchise and Vice President Global Commercialisation and FDT Leader HCV Portfolio and HCV Small Molecules.

Gibbs was also Vice President of US Sales for Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Endo Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, George Weiss Associates and SmithKline Beecham.
