Will market and distribute chemicals globally


Vertellus Specialties of Indiana, US, a specialist chemicals company manufacturing ingredients for the pharmaceuticals and personal care markets, and Vapi Products Industries have established a joint venture, Vapi Products Pvt Ltd, in India.

The joint venture company will be renamed Vertellus Specialty Materials (India) Pvt Ltd for the marketing and distribution of chemicals globally.

Vertellus Specialties is the majority partner and will operate the venture’s manufacturing facility in India.

The company manufactures sulfones monomers and derivatives for high-performance polymers at its facility in Seal Sands UK and will continue to do so.

Rich Preziotti, chief executive of Vertellus Specialties, said: ‘This strategic joint venture will enable us to maintain our market growth and meet increasing customer demands for sulfone monomers and derivatives alongside other key products.’

He added that the joint venture would provide a catalyst for growth in India as Vertullus expands its presence in pyridine chemistry and pharmaceutical ingredients.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
