Wickham Laboratories is pleased to announce the appointment of John McKenzie PhD, FRSC in the role of Chief Executive Officer as part of a long term strategy for corporate growth and development.
The new CEO will join the Company on September 1, 2015. He brings with him substantial management experience in the global life sciences industry as well as business development, service management, and international regulatory expertise. Under his leadership, we look forward to a renewed focus on R&D and service expansion.
Dr. McKenzie said, “I’m delighted to take the position of CEO of Wickham Laboratories, a facility and team respected in the industry for good science, technical ability and extensive experience. I look to build on the legacy of previous management for the continued benefit of our clients.”
Our current Technical Director, Chris Bishop BSc, CSci, CChem, FRSC, will be leaving the Company at the end of 2015 in order to prioritise his Expert Witness and consulting work. Mr. Bishop has been instrumental in the Company’s success over the past forty years as well as a vital stakeholder in the development of this new strategy. We are confident that this transition period will ensure the consistency, continuity and succession of the business.
Mr. Bishop said, “It has been my great honour to have the opportunity to lead Wickham Laboratories throughout so many stages of development over the past forty years. What was once a small facility providing services to the local animal health trade, has now grown into a contract testing organisation serving the pharmaceutical and medical device industries globally. While it is difficult to step away from something I have been involved with for so many years, I feel assured that the appointment of Dr. McKenzie will leave the Company in good hands with a secure future.”
