Despite the credit crunch Bridgend based, Biotec Services International Ltd is delighted to announce that 2008 was the company’s most successful year yet, as the company smashes its £2 million turnover target.
The company completed 2008 with a turnover in excess of £3 million, a 140% increase in export sales, the MediWales Export Achievement award, a 152% increase in US sales and over 100% increase in revenue.
Biotec’s success in 2008 was a direct result of the company’s marketing activity, particularly in North America and Israel. A great deal of time, money and effort was invested into nurturing existing clients and developing relationships with new clients across the globe.
Business Development director, Fiona Withey commented: “2008 saw Biotec not only take further steps into North America, where we worked hard to build relationships with clients across the Atlantic. We also attended a number of key conferences, produced vital company literature and developed a new and updated websiteâ€.
“Our steps into North America have proved very significant to Biotec’s growth as we are already securing a number of contracts on the West Coast of America. However, we are still taking time to develop relationships with potential clients in Japan, Israel and Europeâ€.
Fiona continued, “Biotec is going from strength to strength and in the past year the company has experienced rapid growth. We are currently running more than 80 drug trials for clients internationally and have the facilities to take on a great deal more. I am delighted with the results of our US strategy and hope for continued success in 2009 by reaching a turnover of £3.7 millionâ€.
Biotec has had a great deal of support from IBW over the past year, which has helped to fund the company’s business drive, particularly in the USA. IBW continues to support Biotec by helping the company to actively search for business on both the East and West Coast of America.
In 2008 Biotec also enjoyed a move to its large new custom-built £1.5 million facility in Bridgend which provides a great deal more space to meet the needs of its growing client base. The company also changed its name to Biotec Services International Ltd to reflect its continued growth of clients internationally, particularly in the USA, Canada, Israel and Japan.
