Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched a tool that allows scientists involved in vaccine production to spin sample volumes at a higher speeds and capacity.

The Super Speed Centrifuge Workflow Solution uses the new Nalgene 1L super speed centrifuge bottle, which holds a litre of liquid and allows researchers to save a significant amount of time. By running fewer centrifugation cycles - taking advantage of the high volume - the separation of large volumes of cell harvests and pelleting large volumes becomes more rapid.

This workflow solution is compatible with the new Nalgene bottle, FIBERLite carbon fibre rotors, and Thermo Scientific Sorvall Super-speed centrifuges.

The centrifuge bottles are used to process cell harvests and intermediates for vaccine production, or for any application requiring large capacity processing. When matched with a 1 x 4L FIBERLite carbon fibre rotor and a Sorvall RC-6 Plus or a 1 x 6L FIBERLite carbon fibre rotor and the Sorvall Evolution centrifuge, these centrifuge bottles enable scientists to centrifuge up to 6 litres of sample at speeds that create forces of up to 15,810 x G.
