A royal treat for First Water
His Royal Highness The Duke of York recently visited First Water in his capacity as Special Represent-ative for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). The role's official activities include 'encouraging British companies to become involved in international trade, selling British goods and services overseas, and attracting and retaining inward investment to protect British jobs'.
The Duke toured the company's r&d and manufacturing facilities, where its hydrogel materials are synthesised, characterised and tested, and unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit.
Matthew Hobbs, UKTI's deputy international trade director, South West, said: 'It is a great honour to welcome HRH The Duke of York as our Special Representative. First Water has done some excellent work in the area of wound care and deserves this recognition.'
First Water develops, manufactures and converts advanced wound dressings and medical devices based on its patented gel technology. Its latest products include antimicrobial hydrogels developed 'to challenge bacteria head on' and a dressing designed to immediately cool and soothe burns.
