A web inspector calls

The latest version of the Inquesta web inspection systems from PressTech Controls now includes the ability to inspect film and foil substrates in flexible packaging applications.

Using dynamic template comparison, the Inquesta range analyses every printed repeat for deviations from a 'golden template'. By inspecting every pixel, all imperfections in the print — set to customer-specific tolerances — are identified at full print speed and displayed on the operator's console to allow corrective action to be taken. Any flaws are categorised and recorded in a database to enable future problems to be eliminated. The data also ensures that flawed copies do not proceed to the converting or finishing stage, thus reducing value-added waste.
