Albemarle to acquire US facility from DSM
Albemarle, custom fine chemicals manufacturer, has purchased DSM Pharmaceutical Products\' (DSM) South Haven, Michigan facility and the fine chemistry services and pharmachemicals business associated with it.
Albemarle, custom fine chemicals manufacturer, has purchased DSM Pharmaceutical Products' (DSM) South Haven, Michigan facility and the fine chemistry services and pharmachemicals business associated with it.
The acquisition is expected to complete by 30 September, 2006.
'The South Haven acquisition is another key move in our ongoing efforts to reposition the fine chemicals division around services and higher value activities," said John Nicols, vp of fine chemicals Albemarle.
'We also look forward to adding the site's comple-mentary active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) business to our own APIs and supporting these new products and customers,' Nicols added.
Albemarle's Fine Chemistry Services business, part of the company's Fine Chemicals division, provides cGMP and non-GMP custom chemical manufacturing services, active ingredients, and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agricultural chemical and other customers worldwide.
