Alcan to establish pharma packaging centre in Spain

North American packaging giant Alcan is to expand its network in Spain through a new production centre dedicated to pharmaceutical packaging. Based at the Alcan Packaging Alzira plant, located near Valencia, the centre will specialise in printing flexible packaging materials.


North American packaging giant Alcan is to expand its network in Spain through a new production centre dedicated to pharmaceutical packaging. Based at the Alcan Packaging Alzira plant, located near Valencia, the centre will specialise in printing flexible packaging materials.

'The production activity at Alcan Packaging Alzira complements our global pharmaceutical production network and allows us to provide integrated packaging solutions to the entire industry,' said Christel Bories, president and ceo, Alcan Packaging. 'Through this investment, Alcan Packaging will offer a local supply of printed packaging material to its Spanish, Portuguese and locally based multinational customers,' she added.

Among its 180 operating facilities worldwide, Alcan Packaging has nearly 90 sites in Europe which last year received US$204m in investments in order to adapt and leverage their technological capabilities, the company said.
