Fisher Scientific, based in Loughborough in the UK, has added Fisherbrand's Whirlmixer Plus to its range of vortex mixers.

The mixer is designed for tube, microplate, flask and microtube mixing using interchangeable accessory platforms. Variable speed allows the user to control mixing, and a low speed setting is available for gentle mixing to reduce damage to cell structures.

In addition, there are two modes of operation – continuous running and a press start, which is suitable for use with the tube-mixing cup. All the accessories can be autoclaved.
