Alliance offers accurate logs

Laminar Medica, the specialist designer and manufacturer of cold chain insulated shippers for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has entered into an alliance with Sensitech UK, a leading manufacturer of temperature data logging systems.

As a result it will now be possible to offer a fully validated shipping system with integral data logger and temperature monitoring service from one source, according to Tim Jennings, Laminar Medica's sales manager.

Another key aspect of the alliance will be a web-based service to enable temperature tracking by the sender on-line, accessing the data via a secure server.

The shipping units have been designed to address the problem of how to ensure that the data being logged is the right data. Problems arise, says Jennings, when loggers record only what is happening inside the shipper but not what is happening within the product itself. The combined approach by Laminar and Sensitech will ensure the integrity of the data logged.
