Alza to build Irish plant

Alza is to establish a manufacturing facility in Cashel, Ireland for the large-scale production of pharmaceutical products. The US$50m first stage of development is expected to be completed by late 2002. The first products to be manufactured at the plant will incorporate Alza's proprietary transdermal drug delivery technology. Around 100 jobs will be created.
