AMRI has opened its first in vitro biology laboratory in Singapore, as well as a 10,000 sq ft laboratory expansion for medicinal chemistry discovery services. The new facilities have more than doubled the capacity of its Science Park III facility.

The establishment of in vitro biology testing services coupled with expanded chemistry capabilities increases AMRI's ability to execute integrated drug discovery projects of increasing complexity with reduced cycle time.

The in vitro biology group will test compounds synthesised by AMRI's Singapore-based medicinal chemistry teams to deliver high quality potency data using cell-based or biochemical assays. AMRI anticipates hiring an additional 70 plus chemists and biologists to staff the Singapore facility over the next three years to meet increasing demand.
