The new centre builds on the success of Ansell's first AXIS site, which launched in Alpharetta, Georgia, in 2025 as part of the company's strategy to bring customers closer to its research, development and safety expertise.
Designed as an immersive collaboration space, AXIS Portugal enables manufacturers, distributors and safety professionals to explore new personal protective equipment (PPE) technologies through expert-led education, live product demonstrations and simulated hazard testing.
The facility also provides a platform for customers to work directly with Ansell's specialists to develop solutions for emerging workplace safety challenges.
A key differentiator for the Portuguese site is its proximity to Ansell's production facility, allowing visitors to tour the manufacturing operation and gain first-hand insight into the development and manufacture of industrial hand protection products.
Ansell's Portuguese operation has been manufacturing industrial gloves for more than three decades and serves customers across Europe.
"AXIS is about bringing our customers closer to our capabilities so we can solve real safety challenges together," said CEO Nathalie Ahlström.
By combining our global expertise with hands-on learning and real-world testing, AXIS Portugal will help shape safer workplaces for the future.
The opening reflects Ansell's continued investment in R&D and customer collaboration as manufacturers respond to evolving regulatory requirements, automation and increasingly complex occupational safety risks.
