Automated vials

A steadily increasing demand for products has led to Torbay PMU, part of South Devon NHS Trust, to invest in a high tech, automated on-line vial inspection machine. The new machine will have a maximum output of 6000 vials per hour and has been specially adapted to take vials up to 52mm in diameter - the largest size that Torbay uses for its licensed and specials pharmaceuticals.

Supplied and installed by Adelphi Manufacturing, the German-built Rota machine has four inspection stations - two for particle detection, one for standardising fill-level and one for spotting missing or defective caps.
