Automation cuts response time
Multinational bioscience company Millipore has introduced an automated solution for the rapid detection, response and resolution of microbial contamination in manufacturing processes. The Milliflex Rapid microbiology detection system and AutoSpray station is suitable for a range of pharmaceutical applications, and improves process control and product yield.
Based on adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) bioluminescence, the system delivers test results faster than traditional detection methods, such as membrane filtration and pour plates. Able to detect and count viable micro-organisms down to 1 cfu, the 21 CFR Part 11 compliance ready system delivers reproducible results that correlate with traditional methods. It uses pre-sterilised, disposable Milliflex filter units for sample preparation.
The AutoSpray station delivers a uniform application of bioluminescent reagents in 90 seconds. A self-priming micropump ensures that a precise volume of preprogrammed reagent is dispensed.
