AZ opens new plant in China

AstraZeneca has inaugurated a new US$100m manufacturing plant in Wuxi New District China one of the largest investments by a Western pharmaceutical company in the People's Republic. The plant, near Tai Hu Lake, 200km west of Shanghai, will employ 280 people. The company will produce the top selling Losec treatment for stomach disorders as well as Plendil for heart disease and asthma treatments at the plant.
