Bayer president elected chairman of World Self-Medication Industry Federation

Gary S. Balkema, president, worldwide Bayer consumer care division, and member of the executive committee of Bayer HealthCare, has been elected chairman of the World Self-Medication Industry Federation (WSMI) with effect from June.


Gary S. Balkema, president, worldwide Bayer consumer care division, and member of the executive committee of Bayer HealthCare, has been elected chairman of the World Self-Medication Industry Federation (WSMI) with effect from June.

The WSMI is dedicated to promoting the development of the self-medication industry on a worldwide basis with the objective of improving knowledge in this field and thus making a contribution to responsible self-medication. The federation consists of 51 member associations representing manufacturers and dis-tributors of non-prescription medicines on all continents, plus senior executives of the major companies.
