Bayer Technology Services, the engineering affiliate of the Bayer group, and Werum Software & Systems have signed a global technology partnership to implement projects in the regulated industries.
The co-operation focuses primarily on pharmaceutical companies intending to install a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to optimise their production processes, particularly with regard to process performance, safety, costs and quality. The agreement establishes the framework for joint acquisition and execution of projects implementing MES systems.
The software to be applied will be Werum's product suite PAS-X, which has completed more than 300 successful installations around the world. Werum has comprehensive expertise in the development and customisation of MES solutions by integrating the shop floor IT architecture. Bayer Technology Services' experience is in products to develop and design pharmaceutical plants and to optimise the production processes.
Eleven of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical companies use PAS-X to run their manufacturing business. The modular system suite includes components for production planning and scheduling, master batch record management, electronic batch recording, weighing and dispensing, material flow control and tracking, equipment integration, warehouse management, quality management, and performance management based on KPI analysis.
