Global engineering firm Bosch Rexroth has opened its first service centre as part of a new strategy to improve services to customers.

The Cardiff Service Centre will allow the drive and controls company to provide a faster service to its customers in South Wales as part of a plan to roll out six regional service centres around the UK.

An increased repair and testing function will be based at the Treforest site rather than the headquarters in St Neot's, Cambridgeshire or the South Cerney site in Gloucestershire. Specialist repairs include hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, power units and high response servo / proportional valves.

The facility has been set up to support hydraulic systems users in order to compliment existing service arrangements. The centre will also run a range of comprehensive training courses in hydraulics, pneumatics and control technologies, promoting engineering knowledge in South Wales and west regions.

Martin Hoskins Service Centre Manager, said: 'This is the first in a series of Bosch Rexroth Service Centres opening around the country. From these state of the art facilities we are going to be able to work more closely with our customers, better understanding their needs and delivering fantastic results even faster than before.'
