Sessions of York will feature its Braille self-adhesive labelling product, the company's reaction to the latest recommended Braille standard.
EU Directive 2004/27 states that information for the partially sighted and blind should be provided on medical products. This includes Braille on the packaging itself. Sessions has achieved highly accurate 0.37mm - 0.4mm minimum dot heights on its high speed label presses. The company is printing Braille self adhesive labels to very precise tolerances on transparent filmic material.
Among the innovations on the stand is Sessions' latest addition to its range of Multi-Task Thermal Transfer Printers - the RCP64 - a machine specifically developed to both print and apply labels to round containers from the smallest vials up to wine bottles. Sessions is demonstrating the RCP64's powered bottle jig facility which offers quick changeover for short and medium labelling runs, as required by many smaller production units. Fast product changeovers are achieved by combining printing, rewinding and applying into one simple operation.
Sessions' will also feature the improved RC30 self-adhesive labelling unit. The RC30 handles small cylindrical items and difficult-to-handle products such as vials, syringes and inhalers. The RC30 now has a smaller footprint reducing demand on line space, and more safety features, making the PLC controlled machine suitable for busy production environments.
