Cavitation resistance

Published: 1-Apr-2003

Schubert & Saizer has constructed a regulator device which makes sliding gate control valves resistant to cavitation. Whereas valves of classic forms exhibit erosion from cavitation, sliding gate control Valves installed at the same location are almost completely unaffected by cavitation and thus last much longer. A short working stroke and low moving masses mean that the drive unit and packing are not subject to wear and thus last much longer. In addition, a single person can quickly and easily service a valve of this type, even when it is still in situ. Thus the use of sliding gate control valves makes is possible to optimise a production plant for efficient and cost-effective operation.
