Celltech Medeva adds versatile blister packer

Celltech Medeva has invested over £800,000 in a Marchinesi MB451, enabling the company to blister pack using PVC/PVDC and Triplex or alu/alu (Coldform). The highly flexible system also provides for packing more than one tablet per pack.

The machine is part of an initiative to ensure that the company can meet requirements for new packs and to facilitate the change to Patient Packs.

The MB451 is in a dedicated room, protected by airlocks with its own air handling system, including temperature control and total air extraction. This allows Celltech Medeva to pack uncoated potent products safely.
