Chemicals: the key to sustainability

The chemical industry holds the key to sustainability in the global market, UK Chemical Industries Association president Barry Stickings told an audience of senior civil servants in the UK. He said that the UK Government held a leading role in developing sustainability, especially in the European Union and in other international structures. 'We need to continue to build on our leading positions, ensuring our ability to contribute to global and local sustainable development and continuing competitiveness of our industry,' he said.
