China's Food and Drug Administration has banned the use and sale of an Hepatitis A vaccine, produced by an unnamed Hangzhou company, which has been linked to the death of one school pupil and which may have made 300 others ill.

The administration will also check other vaccines across the country.

Health Minister Gao Qiang said at a press conference in Suzhou, that the accident could partly be the result of psychosomatic factors.

Three thousand Hepatitis A vaccines produced by the company were sold in Shanghai earlier in the year and are thought to have been used, but no other incidents have so far been reported.
